Start of the Octopus-VDM project

The Octopus-VDM project originated from earlier developments and experiments on the use of vector displacement maps for realtime terrain rendering, shape synthesis and the interest in photogrammetry and 3D-scanning technologies. It was brought to light when the exiting announcement was made that Blender 3.5 will be the first version to officially support VDMs in the sclupting mode.
